He made the announcement Wednesday on a teleconference that was set up to preview the Notre Dame game. Emilien played as a backup in the season-opening win against Connecticut. He played in five games last year as a freshman. He was recruited by Rodriguez after starring at Plantation High School in Florida.

Irish C Wenger suffers second concussion (AP)Wed, 8 Sep 2010, 20 hours agoNotre Dame fifth-year senior center Dan Wenger sustained his second concussion since mid-August and he is discussing with school officials whether he should return to football. Texas to honor Wyoming's Narcisse (AP)Wed, 8 Sep 2010, 21 hours agoTexas will have a pregame tribute for Wyoming freshman linebacker Ruben Narcisse, who was killed this week in a traffic accident. Kansas AD Perkins retires 1 year early (AP)Wed, 8 Sep 2010, 22 hours agoEmbattled Kansas athletic director Lew Perkins retired 12 months early Tuesday, following a year of controversy and embarrassment for both himself and the school. Perkins, 65, said in June that he would retire in September 2011. Instead, he and chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little announced he was leaving immediately and didn't make themselves available to reporters to explain why.
